CPU - 1.3 GHz or faster
RAM - 256 MB or more (512 if it's Vista)
Disc Drive - 8x or faster CD/DVD drive (my current computer's DVD drive is broken)
Hard Drive - At least 1.5 GB of free space
Video Card - DirectX 9.0 compatable (32 MB or more)
Sound - DirectX 9.0 compatable.
I like the Sims 2 and that's what I need. My current computer is crap. Slow, virus infected (I have antivirus running or something), bad graphics, and when I try to play it for the Mac it works (Macintosh laptop) but no graphics card so the walls flash red which is O.K. but I like the wallpaper.

To play sims 2 you'll want a CPU speed or 1.6GHz or more
512MB wont be enough to handle Vista, you would want a 1GB or more for that, for the system memory
Disc drive fine
Hard drive, 1.5, that wont get you far, the norm is 50GB, but these days most computer have 80GB or more. I have 100GB
Video Card that's very poor and in no way will be enough to handle Sims 2

the one i m using is
CPU - 1.66 GHz Core2Duo
RAM - 1 GB
DISK DRIVE - ASUS SUPERDRIVE 52x (CD/DVD writer/re-writer)
HARD DRIVE - 160 GB
VIDEO CARD - 128 MB
SOUND CARD - don't know but it is DirectX 9.0c compatible
i m running GTA- SANANDREAS without any 3d card with it. which my friends say that it is excellent!
i have bought it in 24000 Rs. 4 months back (when 1$=60 Rs.)
