got my new laptop with norton internet security 2009 installed for 60 days.10 days left.i bought norton same product 2009 from store on disc.do i need to uninstall when the 60 days are up.before i install the new disc. ps.very new to computers

if it is a demo version (not all of the features are there) then you will need to reinstall. However, if all the features are there, you should probably be able to just enter the key that came with your product, and it SHOULD work fine. If that fails, then try reinstalling, but you will still need the key either way.

You should be able to just put in the code that came with your new version. There should be an option to "activate" or "register" the trial version.
P.S. Norton is generally considered to be one of the worst antivirus programs you can get these days by pretty much anyone with a technical background. There are lots of better free alternatives, such as AVG, Avira or Avast.

no all you need to do is enter your serial number into the trail version.
that is mostly in the options menu, where you can update the serial.
or just wait till trail ends and it asks you to update.
