OS: Windows XP Pro
Raid0
AMD 3400+
I got the error message when I turned on the computer of Corrupted Or Missing hal.dll file.
This is causing my computer to not go into windows at all.
When I put in my Windows XP CD, it goes through but says it can't find "mass storage" / hard drive. I tried hitting R for repair and it says that also. I tried deleting my partition and I can't even get to that screen because it doesn't recognize my hard drives(raid 0).
Where can I download the hal.dll file? Or how can I fix this problem?
I CANNOT START WINDOWS AT ALL. So therefore, I cannot reinstall windows, or go pass this "Corrupt or Missing hal.dll file" screen.

OK… this is what you do…
1st put your WinXP cd into your cd-rom drive…
then exit when the menu comes up…
then open windows explorer >
(start/all programs/accessories/windows explorer)…
then locate your cd-rom drive with the WinXP cd in it…
then click the plus sign to show the folders…
then right click on the "I386" folder and
choose "search…"
you will see that the "search program window will pop up!
then type in hal.dll (were it says "all or part of the
full name) and then click the "search button"..
you will see than it will find the hal.dll (CAB
Driver) that you are looking for…
then you need to "right click" on the hal.dll (CAB
Driver) that is listed from you search query…and
choose "extract"
you will see a new window titled "select a destination"
you will need to go to …my computer/Local Disk (i.e.)
xp-drive-letter:/windows/system 32 (click once on system 32 to
highlight it.
then click the extract button ( it will ask you if you
want to replace your currect file with the new one your
extracting….click "yes"…then just follow the rest of
instructions…and there you have it!

your best bet is to reinstall the whole operating system, this happened to me a while back and i reinstalled. or you could just fix the main components by inserting the cd from booting and pressing fix i forgot exactly i havent done it in a while
