Has anyone ever had to uninstall Sim’s 3 or any other game for the PC uninstallinging it asked about custom?

When I was uninstalling it the computer asked me if I want to uninstall the custom content, and I really wanted to keep it all because if I don’t then I will have to go back on line and try to find it all to re-download nd re-install. I want to reinstall the Sim’s 3 but if I leave the custom content on my PC will it automatically reinstall itself into my game, or do I have to find it to put it back in my game? And will it still be in the location it’s in now after uninstalling Sim’s 3? I hope I made this where you can understand my question. Thanks for all your help.
