When I go to google.com the following message is on the page-
Attention! Google was blocked because of spyware on your PC. To protect your PC and continue using Google you must download security software.
This software scans your computer and deletes infected files.
A spyware scanner starts scanning and tells me I have adware that blocks google, msn, yahoo and others.
The only page I cannot access is google.
I downloaded AVG free spyware 7.5 and scanned then deleted lots of adware, malware and other stuff.
After the google page scans, it directs me to go here-

I tried to restore to to another day (windows xp) and was not successful after trying 3 different restore dates.
Any Ideas?

Hello John,
This is not good. This is a sign of spyware infection. It more than likely means that a spyware program has installed itself onto your computer.
A couple months back, I had a very nasty spyware infection. It completely screwed my computer up, and I thought I was going to have to buy a new computer.
I tried a couple of free spyware removal programs, but they could never fully delete all of my spyware from my computer.
They also could not fix the errors in my registry.
It seems like you have a similar problem.
It wasn't until I found a website in google that allowed me to scan my computer for free, and then decide if I wanted to delete it or not. Of course I did, and I haven't looked back since.

The program I use is AdwareAlert, and it has kept my computer spyware and pop-up free for a couple of months now, it also has an optional registry cleaner (which is probably also a good idea).
You can find the website above.
good luck,
-danny

You can download and scan your computer for free.
As the computer is booting press your "F8 Key" repeatly which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" . Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.
After into safe mode, run an anti-spyware to remove the spyware and adware on you computer.
Make sure you have 1 or 2 antispyware on your computer and 1 antivirus and also 1 firewall.
GOOD LUCK!

Same thing happened to a client’s computer I was recently cleaning up.
If you weren’t playing around with the file “hosts” (which you probably weren’t),
just go to:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc (On windows XP)
and rename the file “hosts” to “hosts-old”.
Boot into safe mode if you can’t do that straight out.
What happened?
You can take a look into the “hosts” file with notepad.
one of the lines would be http://www.google.com;
When you enter that address, Your browser went to a different IP address from where google’s site really is.
And obviously, that page was trying to get you to install other malware on your system.
google “host file” for more information.
(Well you might wanna try a different search engine if you can’t google)…
