Having a problem with Portable Device on Windows XP?

June 11th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I'm having a problem with portable Device. I'm using Windows XP, and the portable Device is Creative Zen, which is an MP3 player. I have install the program, updated Windows media player to version 11.
When I go to Device Manager to install the drivers, it installs it from the CD the product came with, will it installing it says something about MTP. Once its install the PC recognizes it for about 15 secs before it can no longer recognizes it, and i can no longer access the player.

I need help in trying to figure a way once the driver is install it will stay install and always recognized. Anyone know why a driver would only work for ~ 15 secs?

-Thank you
Plug in with USB cable, every other portable device I have works too.
When i go to device manager Under portable Device it actually says Creative zen, with a Yellow sing and a ! mark. That is when I try to install drivers which only work for 15 secs

do you use USB cable or direclty plug your mp3 in your PC. it looks more like a connectivity problem rather then a driver problem.
