Having problems with Norton Internet Security Program. Error message says Framework has stopped functioning.?

I recently preformed a factory reset on my laptop, i did this because it was suggested by my HP customer support. Previously i had a lot of issues were programs would just stop working and go unresponsive for no apparent reason at all. Now, after the reset, I am still getting Graphics Driver’s going unresponsive. If you can help me with the G-Drivers i will be happy to listen but my real problem is whenever i run a Norton system scan about half way through it comes up with a message saying “unable to complete scan” and then another that says “symatec framework has encounted a problem and has shut down.” After that i cant open up norton again until after i restart the computer. This is becoming a real issue and the HP support group has now been able to fix it.
