Headset Problems with WIndows Vista?

June 28th, 2008 · No Comments

I Have a Cyber Acoustics heatset and windows Vista on my computer, my headset is plugged into the back ports and the front ports on my computer dont work (the plugs to connect them to the motherboard are there, but there isn't a space to plug them in there) the problem is Vista, when i bring up the control panel>hardware and sound>sound it brings me to this tab that says "Playback" "recording" and "sounds" i hit "recording" and it brings up a thing that says "microphone: not connected" when there is in fact one plugged in the back of my computer. ive been to troubleshooting sites and they all have "front port" sections and "back port" sections and all i have is that one "microphone" section. when i look at the properties it says that it wants me to plug it into the front port, which i cant. so my question: how do i get my microphone to work in the back port?
