I was trying to install a free trial for Kaspersky Anti Virus 7, and the installation failed, and a window said that i have to restart my computer before installation. I restarted it again, but the same window kept on appearing over and over again.
The I tried to install the free trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security 7 which i downloaded from Kaspersky's site. but same thing occurs.
I do have previously uninstalled my Kaspersky Anti Virus 6, but the uninstallation was succesful, no trace of it even in the registry or application data.
So what went wrong?

you should uninstall the old version completly before install the latest version. try safemode and uninstall it from add/remove programs.
