A message pops up saying "Attention. Some dangerous Trojan horses detected in your system. Microsoft Windows XP files corrupted. This may lead to the destruction of important files in C:\Windows. Download protection software now! Click OK to download the antispyware. (Recommended)" I click cancel. It pops up half the time I click on a file or folder. I've run the computer in safe mode and run spybot search and destroy, ad-aware, and AVG free edition. But it doesn't go away. Plz help!!!

Does this message appear in message windows with the title "Messenger Service" or similar at the top? If so - you can disable it by following instructions from http://www.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/docs/messagepopup/
If it appears in a browser window, it's a simple advertisement and you should click on the upper rightmost X to close it. Consider getting a popup blocker for your browser.

A lot of spyware threats can be killed by Spybot and Adaware, but the most typical problem is that people don't clean their registry or use the immunization tool that's included in spybot.
So… Restart your computer in safe mode with networking (Internet connection) run spybot, delete whatever issues it finds, then run adaware, repeat the same.
Then goto the site below and download Easycleaner, then click on the registry part, search and delete everything it finds (invalid registry settings)
Then goto click on where it says Startup. Look through there and delete anything you don't want to start up when your computer starts up. It might be that there is some type of program your booting up every single time you restart your computer that is causing the issue.
After doing all that, restart your computer, should boot up faster and run better.

Housecall by trendmicro is another good free scanner which actually removes everything it finds.
Some of these adware programs are installed as toolbars in your browser.
Try googling the name it gives you for more information about it.
Castlecops is a good source of information too.
