I have got Norton 360 and i have never had any problems before, i have run 2 full scans but nothing seems to get rid of it. It refuses to go on the 'add or remove programs'.

I tried everything, and even the step by step deletion from all of the separate registries, that took hours, but in the end, i had to re boot the whole thing back to factory specs, nothing i did , and i mean nothing, would stop it, was a complete pain in the arse, and i know how you feel, good luck

Antivirus XP 2008 is more fakee anti-spyware; Antivirus XP 2008 is just XP Antivirus 2008 by another name. Like XP Antivirus 2008, Antivirus XP 2008 pops up fake security alerts to try and trick you into buying Antivirus XP 2008. Antivirus XP 2008 may have downloaded itself onto your computer through a trojan, like Zlob. Antivirus XP 2008 can launch when you start up Windows, and Antivirus XP 2008 may popup tons of ads that are difficult to close. Remove Antivirus XP 2008, if only because Antivirus XP 2008 may make you want to throw your PC out the window.

XP Antivirus 2008 is a Trojan Horse program that pops up during computer start up and when you are surfing the net, then forces you to close the internet explorer by taking you to another website. This program came up about 3 months ago and it is infecting numerous computers. Install an antivirus, spyware, adware, malware and trojan program like Windows Live Onecare from Microsoft(onecare.live.com) can help to automatically remove the trojan program approximately right after 5 minutes of installation. Windows Live Onecare is free for a 90 days trial, but you can continue by subscribing to Microsoft if you are satisfied with its virus detection capabilities.
Do NOT click any button in any pop-up (such as a "Close" or "No" button) or the Close box that appears in the upper-right corner of the pop-up. Closing a pop-up in that way might actually install a virus or other malicious software on your computer. To close a pop-up ad, press Ctrl-W or Alt F4 (if you're using Windows) or Command-W (on Mac).
