The fact that it says “they are still in use” means that you did not stop all its processes.
      1) Start your PC in safe mode (rapidly tap F8 as the PC boots up)

      2) Delete all the files that the website lists. To do this, click Start > Search > and type in the names of the files on the website

      3) Restart the computer

      yep u got it too..
      the antivirus 2008
thats the name of the virus loolz

i had it infected on my comp too..

if u dont mind reformatting ur pc thats the easiest way out.. and anyway tat virus wont let u do anything !!
just copy all imp things to d drive and format ur c. (if u can)

be sure where ur windows was installed whether in c or d??
and thn format it. hope u have windows cd to format . just insert it boot from it and format where windows was installed. if i explain every thing in detail its gonna be biiig reply. hope u know most of the things.

or u can download below applications from other system and install it on ur pc using usb, and then try to clean ur pc.

okay so u definetly need full protection

      my recomendations to you.

      1. Get free avira antivir = it has the least false positive and highest virus definitions. pro version also blocks negative sites from intruding ur system..ie also has advanced firewall system .thats something awesome.. not in free
but free version still is best.

2 get zone alarm (u can get pro if u search really hard) its a good firewall protection from future getting robbed scenes.

3 get the spyware doctors threatfire. the best anti spyware there is

all are free so get thm and ur comp gets the best army defense system..lolz

on a higher note STOP ZILLA IS A VERY GOOD ANTI SPYWARE AND PROTECTION UNIT.. but scan is free not clean..
u can very well use it to check if u have anything unwanted still left.

next time whn u surf dangerous sites hope u get lot of warnings from these protectors.

      P.S

threatfire is really good but it munches away a lot of system resources..
its becomes nearly impossible to run it in background doing something else..unless u have a very strong pc.. OR U JUST KEEP THAT RUNNING AND NOTHING ELSE

so instead of that i suggest u use super antispyware ..
but its not as strong as threatfire..

A web page that wud explain in detail and where u can find these..

I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS MYSELF WITH THE SAME VIRUS - RECOMMEND YOU FOLLOWING MY STEPS, SINCE I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE THREAT SUCCESSFULLY

First of all, you let an adware into your computer. That opened all the advertising pages and made you download and install the software.

Ah, neither AVG, Kapersky, McAffee, Norton or Avast will be able to find it, so don't waste your time doing that.

If you have another computer, do this step in it. If not, well, you can do it on your infected PC, but it's usually easier. Download SpyBot: Search & Destroy here:

      http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html

      Other Spywares here:
      http://www.download.com/Spyware-Removers/3150-8022_4-0.html?tag=ltcol;nav

It's a trial, but works well.

Now save it to a pen drive or whatever you have. Bring it to your computer. INSTALL IT and UPDATE THE DATABASE. This is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, otherwise he won't be able to locate the threats, that are probably inside your windows registry.

After that, restart your PC, keep pressing F8 when it's starting (black screen). Select SAFE MODE. Now, when in SAFE MODE, open Spy Bot Search and Destroy. Run a full check on your machine (may take a while). When it's over, remove the threats. If you have time, run that check twice. Once the threat is removed, just restart your computer and have fun.

If that doesn't work (which probably will), press CTRL + ALT + DELETE (Ctrl + Shift + Esc on vista) and go to processes. See if you find anything unusual (you probably won't, this kind of threat is working on stealth). Oh, and try deleting the files from this AntiVirus 2009 later, if they aren't hidden.

This is a really annoying virus, had it, AVG, norton, mcaffe, nothing would find it, even kapersky. But SB S&D did the job =)

      Good luck !!!

Antivirus 2009 is an unwanted program, from the authors of Antivirus 2008 . These applications have resembling interface and “features”. After stealth installation, Antivirus 2009 will show tonns of fake spyware\adware detection messages and offers to remove reported threats (after you purchase commercial version). But in real Antivirus 2009 is not a spyware cleaner, it’s just an imitation of spyware remover. Antivirus 2009 can also slow your computer and cause system errors and crashes. Remove Antivirus 2009 using manual removal instructions (for advanced users) or removal tool.

Download malware anti-bytes for an anti-spyware from:
      http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

And then use avast as an anti-virus:
      http://www.avast.com

And then download comodo firewall to prevent other viruses from coming from:
      http://www.comodo.com

And then you can download another anti-spyware called SUPERantispyware from:
      http://www.superantispyware.com

The computer may be slow after that, if it is download Ccleaner:
      http://www.ccleaner.com

It will solve registry problems to make your computer go faster and it can delete cookies and such
