Help- I just reinstalled Windows XP Pro, but I can’t reinstall drivers.?

September 18th, 2008 · 8 Comments

Yeah. That basically covers it.

After reinstalling windows, I got everything to load, but my drivers for my video card, audio controller, ethernet card were not installed.

Under device manager, it just shows a question mark by the things.

MY PC is a Dell Dimension 3000, and I don’t have the discs that came with my PC to install whatever.

Any help is appreciated!

Had the same problem, stupid cd wouldn't let me reinstall drivers.

Call the computer manufacturer, speak to a technician, they will fix it for you like they did mine.

Oh, and the reason why you can't reinstall some of the drivers is because you are more then likely missing a .dll file.

If you have a web connection - assuming the network card driver installed. Go to DELL .com, find your model, download the drivers - I just went through this last week. If you don’t have a connection you’ll need to download the network card driver to a different PC and burn it to a CD or copy it to a USB key.

Look on the dell website. All your drivers are there.

      Easily solved, dont worry

Just go to dells driver download site, I’ll even get the right model up for you

      ethernet-

The video (assuming its the original that came with the system) has a few different to pick few, its at the bottom of this:

If you put your own card in, go to the manufacturers website

most of the pc now and laptop are designed to work on vista or new o.s. maybe your driver is not compatible with xp.
try to browse on the web for a compatible driver to for your operating system, you may download them for free.
