Help! My Sims 3 won’t uninstall!?

My Sims3 wont open so i thought i would uninstall it then reinstall it so i could play it, but every time i try to install it a message comes up saying an error [-5005: 0×80070002] hasoccurredd. Please make sure you have Finished any previous setup and closed applications. I even tryed a uninstall software to help but nothing is working! what should i do? I really want to play and ihaven’t yet! Ur answers would be very much appreciated!

do CTRL + ALT + DELETE to open task manager and end any processes called either "maxis" "AUTORUN" or "sims" or anything along those lines. then go to Start > control panel > add or remove programs > uninstall sims 3.
