find a new anti-virus and get rid of that crap
I personally use AVG but just about any other anti-virus is better than that resource hogging junk

do activate your norton manually, and update it!! just right click it from the left down part and some options will pop up!! by the way norton slows your PC
I recommend Bitdifender its the most poplar nowdays

Honestly?! I'd kill the Norton asap… that software is such a resource HOG and so invasive to the rest of your system's software. There are plenty of FREE anti-virus softwares out there that Norton is nearly … pointless. Try any of the following…
AntiVir - http://www.free-av.com/
Avast - http://www.avast.com
AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/
BitDefender - http://www.bitdefender.com
ClamWin - http://www.clamwin.com/
Most use Avast or AVG … I use Avast… good luck! : )

Norton is out of date, if your subscription is good do a LiveUpdate and the message will go away. If your subscription is expired try getting the updates manually from :
http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_AntiVirus_2003-07_Definitions_d3995.html
And install them. Or download SymNRT and unistall Norton and install AVGfree.

uninstall norton, it really slows down you computer. instead, you can install avg basic http://free.avg.com/ or avira antivir http://www.free-av.com/ (i reccommend avira, i use it too)
the good thing is, that none of the two costs. you just have to download them from the homepage and install them (be sure that its the basic version, since the pro version costs like 20-50 bucks)

It's true…Norton will keep bugging you until you break the computer over your knee. It is highly suggested you look into AVG, or BitDefender for other virus protection options. However, in the meantime, you can use AVG's free virus protection software at http://free.avg.com/ .
Also, use Spybot's free spyware utility http://www.spybot.com to keep the bugs at bay while you're doing your software shopping. Good luck, and be sure to uninstall Norton before installing any new virus protection software…conflicting protection software will make processes very messy!
Let me know if this helps!
