Help! Setup.exe not working at all in windows vista.?

I have a really weird problem. everytime i use something that's called setup.exe Vista will always tell me that setup.exe has stopped working. This is beginning to irritate me. Please help!

      setup.exe should lead you to the system telling you to go to the control panel to install and configure system components

      perhaps you deleted something in the control panel

      if its a Disk installation. try to find a Folder on the Disk that has a "Setup.exe Launcher", it usually says "Setup Wizard" and its blue with white stripes on it

      use that instead, because for some reason Vista errors when a disk tries to auto install itself. with the usual Setup.exe . i got a program to work just fine once it was on the computer.
