Help! Symantec Anti-virus keeps giving me an error message, how do I fix this?

August 28th, 2009 · 2 Comments

This is the error message it gives me:

[The InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assitance.]

I don’t have any "support personnel" to contact…and the realtime protection that I had before is now disabled. Everytime I get on the internet I’m scared that I’ll get a whole bunch of trojans/viruses/malware.

I’ve tried googling this, but I’ve had no luck. Any help is appreciated!

The first person I would suggest you contact is Symantec. They are your support personnel. If your copy of Symantec is not valid, then I would suggest you check out the posts at the link below.

You don’t have symantec or norton antivirus the file you are running is an installation program and it is not matching various files in the setup archive. Forget Symantec, download avira antivir OR Avast (not both) and run the installation file they are better than symantec and are free
