Hello, I am using an HP computer that is running on Vista. After recently renewing my McAfee subscription, I had an error pop up as soon as I started the computer. It said, "Windows Defender application failed to initialize 0×800106ba. Search Help & Support for how to start service manually." I searched online and realized that Windows Defender and McAfee had conflicts, so I tried a solution from the McAfee support website (using Command Prompt) but it failed to work. So I tried to just disable Windows Defender using System Configuration but unchecking Windows Defender. However, when I restarted my computer, it claimed that "a program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer". I didn’t mind that, but soon after McAfee said that my computer was not fully protected, saying that "Personal Information Protection shut down unexpectedly and is now disabled" and "Parental Controls shut down unexpectedly and is now disabled". I fixed it but when I pressed update in the SecurityCenter again, it said the same problem. Please help!!
