April 10th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Was hoping some one could help me i have a dell latitude laptop but when i start windows up i get the error message missing browseui.dll and windows will load but it will just be the back ground and no start tab or any icons on desktop if i wont to use this lap top i have to go into task manager and start the programs through there under new tasks i have tried to use regcure and uninstaller pro as this has reg fix on it but no joy and i scan my dell from boot up to see if it would pass on every thing and it did except i had a message saying to install dell driver and utilities cd but i don't have this cd and to make it a bit harder i don't have the original xp cd as well any help would be great
yep tried the cmd thing and it says something along the lines that it can not find system 32 and i have tried safe mode and i have tried to reformat but i can not get the dvd drive to work as i am guessing that i need the drivers i can only access simple files through task manager

Try starting in Safe Mode and then doing a System Restore to a time it worked.

      thats just bad.

when this happend to me i got luckty that i got a copy of that file somewer in my computer

so what i did was (because i coudnt get inside windows)
      i went into command prompt/dos
      and did it all there.

loacted the location of that file using dos commands
      then copied it
and pasted it in system32 folder
      and it worked.

but im guessing u dont have that file backed up
try system repair (wer it fixes corrupted files)
or system restore (restores ur pc to its last working state)

but ull have to do all these in dos
or u could try safe mod
but when this happend to me even safe mode didnt work
