It started out with me not being able to go online (verizon yahoo) because of a missing file. I then restarted my computer, hoping it would be replaced. It wasn’t, obviously, and now there’s a system32 hal.dll file missing, as well as boot.ini. I can’t open windows, can’t boot it. I tried putting the xp disk in, but it didn’t do anything.
I desperately need help!!!
I’m only 14, so any high tech stuff, I most likely won’t understand. I’m posting this from my iPod, so, ya know, this is my only Internet connection.

Ha dude we are in such the same freaking boat!!!I’m missing this file also and I can’t start up,and also I m typeing this from my ipodtouch too since I don’t have another computer!!!lol and I’m 14 also!!!!!!All I can say is if you have no precious files on your computer you can do a restore of your harddrive.this will reset all of your files but the error will be gone and everything will be okay. You do this by while the pc is starting up,press f11 and ctrl and go to restore.it will restore everything in 5 min.now to be totally clear everything you ever had on that computer will be deleted and you will have what ever you started at the first time you bought that computer.Well wait a sec if you got a cd you can restore the file, just google how to restore the file and you will see.I’m gonna restore my pc cuz I don’t have any real important files and I don’t have a cd and I’m not looking to find one.hope it helps,my iPod touch is on low battery so cya!
