Hello,
I use these programs right now,
Antivirus- AntiVir
Firewall- Zonealarm
Anti-spyware- SuperAntiSpyware, Windows Defender
My question is i would like to get rid of windows defender and would like to replace it with another program that offers real time spyware protection but i am not sure what one to use.
I am thinking of spywareguard or spybot S&D.
What one of these programs offer the best real time protection?
PS
I dont know if this makes a big deal or not, but i use firefox as well.
Thank you for any help

I recently got infected with malware and spyware. Super anti spyware was really helpful. It scans spyware and trojans that the paid ones do not. I also used Malwarebytes to get rid of all the trojans, malware and spyware that superanti spyware did not pick up. These are what I use now.

If you want realtime protection for Free I`d suggest Spyware Terminator. It`s top-rated, been downloaded a bazillion times, and seems to be pretty good overall. If your short on patience, like me, I`d suggest turning off the program`s HIPS feature because it will drive you crazy with pop-up messages asking you to Cance or Allow just about everything you do. Hope this helps!

SpywareGuard is a very old program that hasn't been updated in years. Basically all it seems to do is guard against unauthorized home-page changes. Pretty useless.
A lot of Spybot 'immunize' functions will work only when using IE. Such as adding sites into the Internet Explorer Restricted Zone.
Check out WinPatrol (no scanner just real-time protection)

First off, using Firefox or IE is irrelevant, as all of the things that you've mentioned work well on both.
I'm not familiar with Windows Defender, as I've never used it, but I know at least one respected Top Contributor on here who says it isn't worth having.
Now Spybot has two types of real-time protection, its "Tea Timer" and its "SD Helper".
The SD Helper is an immunization feature that (based on its knowledge) blocks bad cookies from installing, and prevents bad downloads.
The Spybot Tea Timer monitors your registry activity and alerts you *every* time a change occurs, regardless of how innocent or mundane. The Tea Timer is really best left for advanced users, as it gives *so many* alerts, that most people just start to allow *everything*.
In any case, if using only Spybot's SD Helper, (and *not* the Tea Timer) it won't use any resources and won't conflict with anything that you mentioned.
SpywareGuard seems to be a little questionable about what it may conflict with, and its own home page even states that it is a "work in progress".
Personally, I use and recommend Comodo BOClean as my real-time antimalware. I run Avast antivirus, Comodo Firewall Pro, and SpywareBlaster + Spybot for my immunization; and BOClean plays nice with all of them.
