I just got brand new 1.5MBPS qwest high speed internet for my old computer. I have been told that if you get new internet for an old computer, it doesn’t slow down the internet but it does slow down the computer. Apparently the computer has to like take extra time to read the language of the internet cuz it’s like old and the internet is new. So, if i put more RAM in my computer will that fix my problem and make my computer fast again like it was before i had internet. I actually only have 512MB of ram, so if i bring it up to 2 GB of ram, how much would the speed of my computer increase by would you say? twice as fast? three times as fast? what if i only give it another 512mb, then how fast will it go, cuz that was how much i was planning on getting for it. THANKS

Actually you need to find out what speed you PC is 1st? Most today start about 700Mhz and go up. I run 3.0Ghz. Then you want more RAM. 4Gb is great. Hard drive should be about 500Gb or bigger.
512 is not what you want to look at. Small but no biggy. I use to run a 512 and 100Mps. it was fine. But if the PC speed is low you always have low speed. I know one company today that runs 612Mhz. That’s SLOW!!!!
