How can i completely get rid of Xp antivirus 08′?

September 7th, 2008 · 11 Comments

a few days ago i got Xp antivirus again, without choice. last time i got this i used a free spyware program and i got rid of it. Now its back. My program got rid of it, or it seemed. the shortcut was deleted and no more pop-ups, however I got a wallpaper saying it was needed to be cleaned (even though its fake) and i got a fake bluescreen screensaver that shows up saying there was a serious error (I eventually found out it was Xp antivirus). The first time i got it, i lost the ability to change my background & screensaver. At first i found a windows tweak that could restore it (and it did). however i noticed that when i restarted my pc the next morning, it was back. it seems that whenever the wallpaper was on my pc ran slower. Now ever time i restart my pc i get it again and again, its running alot slower (escpeicially the internet) than 3 days ago. And one of my online games is starting to run much slower than usual. what can i do to get rid of this annoying program, officialy. thanks for the feedback!

It is a rogue anti-spyware program similar to the well known XP Antivirus rogue application.

Damn, that is a TROJAN, my sister in-law got it. You cannot delete it, you need a antivirus program, the program is located in "C:\Program Files", she got it out with that piece of s***, free Avast. So if Avast could do it, almost any antivirus could. Good luck, move quick!

Malwarebytes’ free program at this link.
      http://www.malwaresupport.com/mbam/progr…
After you install, start the program and do an update.
      Exit the program.
      Reboot to “Safe Mode”
Run the scanner and delete anything it finds.
If it tells you to reboot to delete the files…do so.
      Worked for me.

On line games are notorious for infecting computers., get superantispyware free edition, download., update., and do an in depth scan in safe mode., its data base covers XP Antivirus 2008 which is a rogue program., your only other option would be to reformat., Good luck.

XPAntivirus2008 (or XPAntivirus 2008, VistaAntivirus2008, SystemAntivirus2008, Antivirus2008, Antivirus 2008) is a rogue anti-spyware program. XPAntivirus2008 can come to user’s computer system after fake video codec’s installation (user actually installs Trojan like Zlob. XPAntivirus2008 will generate fake system error messages to trick user into buying “Full” version of XPAntivirus2008. It is very important to remove all XPAntivirus2008 components from users PC and all the malware, Trojans or spyware that it might have downloaded. Delete XPAntivirus2008 as soon as possible to prevent damage to your computer!
