I am getting this message when I start windows xp. I was looking for solutions on the yahoo!answers and only found one. That was to try this: go to start —> run—> then key in ‘msconfig’—> then click on the tab called ’startup’—> and uncheck webworks.exe….this will disable the msg from ever popping up again.
Problem is, there is no webworks.exe to uncheck on my PC.
Do anyone has another solution or knows how to fix this?
Thanks a lot!
I have Norton Antivirus turned on for years and I am scanning my system on regular basis. I don’t understand what "scan your start" means. How can I scan my start up? I also tried the other thing you said but couldn’t found anything that says RUN or RUN ONCE.
Maybe I am doing something wrong?

most possibly it is a start up virus or dead application link in start up
in you can;t find it there
try
start
run
REGEDIT
HKLM
software
microsoft
windows
try finding smth like RUN or RUN ONCE delete the entries that have something connected with webworks.exe
but first I suggest you update your antivirus and scan your start up

There are several places to look out for startup processes.
1. Look at Start > All Programs > Startup > delete things that seems related to webworks
2. Go to Start > Run > Type "regedit" > Browse the "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Delete any keys that seems related to webworks. (WARNING: Modifying registry key may be dangerous, only do it if you know what you’re doing)
3. Go to Start > Run > Type "regedit" > Browse the "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Delete any keys that seems related to webworks. (WARNING: Modifying registry key may be dangerous, only do it if you know what you’re doing)
If all else fails, try reinstalling Webworks (if you use it) or uninstall (if you don’t use it).
