I dont know what you are typing, but you need to type ” ipconfig ‘
In capitals, thats ” IPCONFIG ”
If it still doesnt work, click the start orb, type command prompt in the search, and right click command propmpt, then click run as administrator.

Set up a shortcut to Command Prompt on your desktop. The properties are %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe and run cmd from there. Check your system32 folder to be sure that ipconfig .exe is in there. You should use ipconfig /all instead of just ipconfig. Your default gateway should be the address of your router. Some are 192.168.1.1 but you will find the exact address in your router manual. It’s the address you use in your internet window to access your router.

In order to use administrative commands such as ipconfig you have to open an
administrator command prompt. To do that:
- Click start
- Type: cmd
- When cmd appears under Programs, right-click it and click Run as
Administrator
Also, right-clicking on the network icon down by the system tray and
clicking Diagnose should do pretty much the same thing.
