How can I find my wireless WPA encryption key?

September 4th, 2008 · 2 Comments

My employer has wireless access that we typically do not use. However, after some computer problems, I need to use my personal laptop for work. I would like to use our wireless internet that is set up, but no one knows what the password is. I use our internet to email our clients and a few of our computers aren’t working. Our IT guy said it was an encryption key, but he has left for vacation!! HELP!!

In this case you need to connect one of you PCs directly to the router by cable, and we will open router web page and access the wireless setting and change the network key or sometimes called pass phrase.

Note: look at local area coonection status and inter support and take the default gateway IP and put it in the internet explorer address bar and that should open the router web page

To even get to the router page you will have to know the router password. Looks like you may have to wait for the IT guy to return.
