My Dell laptop computer, which I just bought last year, is suddenly functioning very slowly. Please read the facts before suggesting how to help:
-It is not just the internet, it is the entire computer that is incredibly slow.
-This happened very sporadically- I did not download anything new (that I know of ) between the time that my computer was fast and became slow.
-I have already done a full virus scan using Symentac AntiVirus, and not a single error was detected.
-I have already defragmented my computer.
-I have tried shutting down, restarting, hibernating, etc. for long periods of time at once to give it a rest. On occasion (not often), after I've been shutting it off for a while, when I restart my computer will work fine for a few minutes, and suddenly become slow again.
Help???

1. Delete norton and get avast.
2. Get adaware.
3. Get perfect disk and defragment it.
4. If any viruses were found and were failed to be removed reformat the comuter.
5. get new drivers if available.

You said you scanned your computer for viruses, but have you done the same for any spyware (using Ad-Aware, SpyBot: Search & Destroy and such apps)?
Additionally you may use some applications that help to optimize your computer. The best application I have heard about is called "Advanced System Optimizer" (I'm planning to take advantage of it myself soon)

Try deleting all of your cookies and Internet temp files. When you surf the web you will receive cookies, they track you and send junk (pop-ups) .then run a full scan using your av and malware software. Kill your screen saver, and drop your custom wall paper to save memory.
