How can I get a virus off my computer my antivirus software isn’t finding?

October 19th, 2008 · 5 Comments

OK, I keep getting a gray pop up box saying my “Windows Anti Virus Software 2009″ hasn’t been update, and then it does the weird thing that it tries to download no matter what I click. I know this isn’t legit. Also, something keeps changing my internet options, specifically, my cookies keep getting changed to “Accept All”. I have run McAfee three times, and it doesn’t seem to be finding anything. Should I try using a different virus software, or can anyone give me any advice at all what to do from here? This is driving me nuts!!!

Did you download anything weird recently? When you run your virus check, just make sure you are not connected online.

hi. now i have the same problem most anti virus dont pick up anything but i have found one called avg 8.0. Avg 8.0 is a free edition for home use. Avg 8.0 has these features: anti-virus, anti-spyware, email-scanner, Link-scanner (website checker) these are all free to use and can be downloaded here: http://filehippo.com/download_avg_antivirus/ on the right hand side download the latest version. go here if u are not sure to read about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVG_(software) remember find this bit AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition and read that it might help but i tell u its brilliant it keeps u very secure.
