In fact I know an edition of Kaspersky includes all the functions of KIS 2009 and You can use it just for free , You may need check it here and it's a tutorial ~

Kaspersky sucks, try AVG, it never failed to catch even the new viruses and it works in the background, AND a free version is available for download.

Myself I'm a Pirate/hacker and I have access to (all) security software!
I've tried them all and these are my favorites that I use daily.
1.Pc tools Antivirus (free version)
2.Pc tools Firewall plus (free version)
3.Pc tools Threatfire (free version)
(I also use these scanners occasionally when I install a really
nasty trojan by mistake!)
4.Malwarebytes antimalware (free version)
5.Superantispyware (free version)
They are all very lite on the ram and there not bullshit trial versions!
Don't be tricked into buying crap like AVG,Norton,Mcaffee these programs are useless crap! Most people on answers needing help to kill viruses use these 3 programs!
Don't use pirated security software! If you do your asking for trouble!
They are full of bugs and usually you can't update them?
