How can I hook my macbook up to a monitor?

September 29th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I was thinking of getting an Acer X223Wbd monitor, and I want to hook my laptop up to it so I can use both monitors to do graphics work. Does anyone know how, or what kind of cables I will need to get? THanks!

all you need is a mini DVI to DVI adapter, or your monitor also supports vga, but dvi = digital and therefore better.

you can the adapters anywhere, but the apple store sells apple branded ones http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9321G/B?mco=MTIxODk3Mw

then when you plug it in, it will automatically “extend” your desktop and you can drag pallettes or other windows to the second display
