how can i remove AVG 8 from my vista HB ?

I recently bought a new laptop. and it is my first time with vista. I installed AVG 8 but windows didn’t loaded when next time i tried to restart. so I ran it on safe mode and removed AVG. i could load the windows but when i tried to install Kaspersky , It said you should first remove AVG , although there is no AVG in my computer anymore. what should i do ??
