In Add or Remove Programs it locks and says Uninstall has failed. Any ideas how to remove them? I already have AntiVir and want to remove the McAfee. McAfee website gives a virtual technician download to do which wasnt helpful. The McAfee subscription long ago expired and is not working now. Thank you.

Exit the programe from the task bar then it will uninstall mate.

GO TO c:\program files\mcafee.com\agent\app and remove all files in this folder.
Return to "Add and Remove Programs" in the Windows Control Panel, highlight McAfee Security Center and click on remove.
Close all windows and restart the computer. Insert the CD and reinstall the McAfee security center, if necessary.
If this does not work, run "services.msc" and set properties on all McAfee services to disabled and recovery to "none". Reboot computer and remove with "Add and Remove Programs"

try again. Go to Add or remove programs and Uninstall the software. If that doesnt work try SYSTEM RECOVERY ( this will delete all data that currently resides on yiour computer and install a fresh copy of Windows so make sure you back up any data you know you would use later.)

You have to go into control panel, then choose add and remove programs.
You then have to scroll down until you see mcafee security center.
You have to have the program running up on the screen for it to un-install, its just so that a virus can't un-install it while it isn't running. Try running the un-installer with the security program physically open, not just on the taskbar.
I personally have mcafee and have sided with avg and zonealarm.
