i downloaded it, because it popped up when i opened my browser. i want to remove it now, but it’s not under add/remove programs. and it’s not under the start up menu either. is there any other way to get it off. even when i right click, it doesn’t do anything except automatically open up.

Try this Google link. You should be able to find the info that you need to remove the spyware here.

first of all, dont download stuff that pops up in your browser, what you downloaded is more than likely a virus and not an antivirus, you need to download or buy a real antivirus program to remove it, or back everything up and reformat your hard drive

I hate to tell you this but I work on alot of PC’s as a bench tech, and I have seen this before and I have had no luck with getting rid of it. The only way I was able to was to format the drive. SORRY

This is a tough kind of siutation. Do you have the downloaded version?
if it’s possible to know what’s the name of the executable file, you can go to “task manager” and kill it.
Then search for that file in the computer and delete the file. Also you may go to regsitry using “regedit32″ from command prompt and search for that name or part of it and delete it registry..

Congratulations, you have spyware. NEVER download anything from the internet that you don't know what it is. It is not under the add/remove programs because it is not exactly a program. It has embedded itself into your registry. Its a little more tricky than removing it from the add/remove programs. You have to go through your registry and delete it, but if you have no idea what you're doing in there or how to get there DONT go there. You can completely screw your computer up if you delete the wrong thing. Take it to an expert.

Never download anything that you don’t know anything about. It may say you are downloading antivirus software, yet be a virus in itself.
Try using a free spyware removal program like AdAware or Windows Defender or Spybot Search and Destroy.
