I downloaded a free 60 day trial of M/S Office from the M/S site which has now expired. I have since bought a disc and I cannot upload it onto my computer because it says I need to uninstall this free trial first, however when I go to Add/Remove Programs and click "remove" it just will not take it off. I have been on the phone with M/S …no results. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1100 and have been on the phone with Dell …no results.
Can someone please help???

have you tried to find the location of the file and manually delete it?

Try using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Because you installed by using the Windows Installer, It should appear in the list.
"You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over."

go to start, open the run tab ,type in regedit, hit ok open the option [hot_key_crrunt user] .then open the software tab look for the software that you need to uninstall and hit deleat thats it.i use this on some trials where they dont ask for your e mail address.and after they expire i just do what i just explained and use the trial again .

I don’t think deleting the location will work because the program will still figure in add remove programs.
Try clicking change at add remove programs and than choose remove .
