I got a computer from a relative that has F-Secure. But it is really slowing it down and not working correctly. I checked in Add/Remove and it is not listed, but I can find the uninstaller in program files. When I try to either delete it or open the uninstaller I get a message telling me to run it in Add/Remove!! This is driving me nuts. I really am afraid to download anything to remove it, and I am hopelessly lost about doing it manually. (1/2 complete computer idiot and fully chicken.) Can anyone help please!!??

Run your Computer in Safe mode by Pressing F8 soon after by passing BIOS. In Safe mode goto Program Files folder and delete your desire program (if it still says that program is running then Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and Click on Processes Tab and select F-Secure and then click on End Process). After deleting Run your PC in Normal Mode. Now you need Registry Mechanic software to clean your Registry. Because software has been deleted Improperly so you need to remove its Libraries files etc from Registry.
If you dont have Registry Mechanic then you may delete F-Secure files from registry manually by Typing REGEDIT in RUN, when Registry Editor appears run the command EDIT >> FIND and type F-Secure and hit ENTER, just delete what it finds and then press F3 to find next and so on.
Hope this may help you finding the solution of your problem.

If you download "Tuneup Utilities 2009" trial version (it's free for 30 days) they have an add/remove option in it also. It will list ALL installed programs - even the ones not listed in "add/remove programs"
I highly recommend purchasing this utility also, but it's not necessary and no I don't work for the company
