It's Ad-Aware 2007 by Lavasoft. I am running Windows Vista. I have never had a problem with it before until yesterday. I went to do a scan and when it was checking for definition updates it froze up and canceled the operation. Ever since then, I have been getting a window that pops up regarding "interactive services" from a program that cannot display a message on my desktop, the reason for this is that some programs are not 100% compatible with Vista. I click the window and I am given the option of sending or not sending a crash report to Lavasoft. I tried both options and sure enough the window returns.
I decided to remove the program, but it's one of the programs that doesn't come up in the list of "programs and features" but it does have its own "uninstall Ad-Aware" button in the All Programs drop down.
It's not allowing me to remove the program because it says it's in use from another user - even after I shut down and restart.
Any other way that I can safely remove this program?
Thanks!

use Revo Uninstaller with the advanced option set for uninstalling and you'll be able to get rid of it completely including the registry..

Try through F8-safe mode or install ccleaner off filehippo.com and use that to uninstall it

Type msconfig in the search bar
Click the startup tab
If AdAware is checked, uncheck it
Reboot and run the uninstaller.
If AdAware is not checked on the startup tab, right click the taskbar and select Task Manager. Click the processes tab, find AdAware (Ad-Aware.exe) and click End Process. Run the uninstaller.

Use RegSupreme Pro's delete utility. It can delete programs that are not listed. You can download it for a free trial. It is available here http://www.ask-the-computer-doc.com/regsupreme-pro.html
