When I saw my website today, my banner image (JPG) had a text embedded into the image (the image was replaced with the name of the hacker). And the logo of my website was replaced with an animated emoticon (the previous one was also a gif image). Both images filenames didn’t change, just the file.
Does this mean that the hacker got FTP access?
The password has more than 12 characters long and it even starts with an underscore. I use GRC Password to generate me a password and then I added characters in between to make it more secure. I already changed the FTP password. I just want to know if the hacker got FTP access.
My hosting (siteground) is a linux server.
