August 2nd, 2008 · 4 Comments

How do I change the security on my linksys network so I can access internet without a password on my MAC laptop and Ipod Touch? Right now I need a password and i am unsure about what it is.
linksys comes from my downstairs PC and works on all PCs in my house without a password

call linksys customer support toll free at (800) 814-018 and ask them they will take you through the right steps to configure your settings so you dont need to enter the password everytime

Well…I hope this is your router because what I’m about to tell you will piss off the owner. There is a small reset button on the back of the router which can be pressed with a paper clip. It is a small pin hole in the back. Press it with a paper clip and hold it for about 10-20 seconds. This will reset the router to it’s factory presets which has no security enabled.

Linskys IP number 192.168.1.1 if you never changed your password then the factory password is ADMIN don't type it using capitals, go to the address bar and type 192.168.1.1>enter you will see username and password come up type ADMIN in the password section and your in then you can change your password and other securities.
