How do I delete the files in my Virus Vault? AVG?

August 16th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I’ve gone into my virus vault and there are a ton of files. I have clicked the “Empty Vault” button as well as the “Delete” button. But what happens is they are removed from the virus vault but not from my computer. I’ve been scanning it every day and it says all the same files are on my computer. What can I do to automatically or at least manually erase all these harmful files?

You have a very complex technical question, because when you delete the viruses in the vault, they are not suppose to still be in your system.

I have a suggestion, go to add/remove and remove AVG antivirus from your system. When removing AVG will always ask you if you want to delete the virus vault at the same time, and you say YES. Then either reinstall with your registration key, or download this software and perofrm a complete scan as the software is free.

Download the free version of Superantispyware. I use this program and will resolve your problem as this software finds nasty viruses and spyware and best of all does not conflict with your own antivirus. http://www.superantispyware.com Update and run and in depth scan. Free you must update daily on a manual basis or purchase and get auto. updates.

Good luck to you, or ctc., me if I can be of more help.

      Hello :)

You don’t need to uninstall AVG and install another anti virus (Super Anti Spyware is NOT an Anti Virus. It won’t protect you from viruses like AVG can) And to clear out the virus vault you DO NOT need to uninstall.

To delete whats in the virus vault simply double-click the AVG Free icon on your desktop -> choose the “History” menu and select the “Virus Vault” option -> click on the “Empty Vault” button.

      Easy as :)

Download and run trojan removal tool from http://www.geeksjunction.com/technical%20support/vundofix.html to remove the files from the computer.
