So I just figured out I have a virus, I first started noticing it when Anti-Virus Vista 2008 kept poppin up on my computer. Then, when I cut the computer off and then cut it back on all my icons and the taskbar were missing. So, my friend told me it was a virus. Then I bought Norton Anti-Virus, when I try to install it it wouldn't let me. It said uninstalled the old version(Norton) so when I try to go to remove program it wouldn't let me "rundll32.exe-Application Error" kept poppin up. Now, whenever I try to cut the computer on and try to use task manager(CTRL+ALT+DEL) "task manager disable something bout administrator" comes up. Help please!
I've just tried to use the task manager in "Safe Mode" because the icons and the taskbar would'nt show and it still says" Task Manager has been disable by Administrator"

Go to http://www.trendmicro.com and download a free trial of their antivirus. Norton is horrible.

You have to enable your user account as an administrative account. Go to Users in Control Panel, select change a user, and change your account type.

Try to restart your pc and then keep pressing the F8 key before windows starts to load. You will then get an option to go into safe-mode, select that and then it will load windows in safe-mode. Once in safe-mode you can either install norton and see if that works. If not go to start - run - and then type msconfig a small window will pop up, in there you can see all the programs that start with windows and select which ones you want to disable. then simply restart. Hope that helps

If you are using an administrator account and still don't have Taskmangler AND you are not on a managed network then something has disabled your TM.
check in the registry for the phrase
"DisableTaskMgr
If the value is set to other than '0', then it will not work for that account.
