How do I find the security code (password) to log into a wireless internet connection on my laptop?

September 8th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I recently moved in with my boyfriend and I can’t figure out how to get on his wireless internet through my laptop. When he set up the connection he didn’t write down the password and now I can’t figure out how to get the password off of his computer so I can log into it on mine. I tried looking at the properties on his internet connection and it shows a password but they are only dots and then when I click on “show characters” the password disappears. Help?!

if its a default password its on the bottom of his router. If not, ask him.

Just reset the router and start from scratch

call your internet service provider, and they’ll provide it to you

Look up the type of router and set up password on the internet.

      eg. “netgear setup password”

There will be a specific website, go to it, from there you will be able to set up the password. Forgetting the password could prove a bit of a mistake.

try contacting him and ask him yourself!
