How do I get rid of antivirus pro 2009?

November 20th, 2008 · 8 Comments

I read all that’s been written about how to get rid of it but there are two problems: 1) I can’t install anything anymore (renaming doesn’t help install - it jams before finishing installation) and 2) I can’t reboot in safe mode anymore. I did get the chance to run Smitfraud Fix from safe mode but that was the last thing i managed to do.I selected the “clean” option and then the “scan” one. After that it rebooted in Normal Mode but the problem is still here (I can’t access any website of any anty-virus or anty-malware company).Need urgent solution!Please..

Back up your important data on another hard drive and reinstall the OS.

If you can’t use a program like Malwarebytes to remove the “scareware” then you may need to delete some registry keys… using regedit (start > Run> type “regedit” ) be careful doing this though. If not I might try: (start> run> copy and paste “http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?hhTest=1″ )

The same thing happened to me. an ad came up saying my comp was not fully protected so i got antivirus 2009 and my comp just went bazerk. antivirus pro 2009 would block most websites and…wel yeah. What you have to do is call the company. ask for a refubd and for them to delete the program. it worked for me. hope i helped. :)

Go to My Computer and in the drives folder, in Program Files, delete anything that has to do with antivirus pro 2009. Then go to start menu and go to Run. Type in regedit to access the registry. Go the HKEY Current User and under software tab thing (all of this on the left side of the window) find anything that has to do with antivirus pro 2009 and delete them (search other areas too). Then go look for anymore antivirus pro 2009 removal instructions but don't download things that claim that they can do the removal for you. Then goto some major antivirus company for help if you need anymore. Then after you think you removed it, get Ccleaner and run the cleaner to clean the registry and computer for uneeded stuff. Or the best way to fix this problem is to reformat. That's what I do. Get a problem? Reformat. Get something suspicious? Reformat. Computer is slowing down? Reformat. Reformat using NTFS quick option. Tell me if what I wrote helped.

Antivirus 2009 is a virus itself. (antispyware xp 2009, antivirus 2009, xp antivirus 2008 and many other clones it has) These are rogue spyware programs, Antivirus 2009 uses fake warning popups, fake security alerts to scare and trick user into buying a “full” version of Antivirus 2009 that costs you 30 $ or even 49 $. it is scam. you can find how to remove these antivirus xp programs at the link below
