How do I get rid of Norton Pop-Up?

July 29th, 2008 · 1 Comment

My computer has found some sort of virus and Norton has dected it. This message pops up about every 5 seconds (no that is not a exageration):
Norton Auto Protect blocked security risk downloader. your computer is secure.

Before anybody can answer this question they must know that I WILL NOT get rid of the Norton software. So please don't answer this question by giving me another anti-virus software to download.

I tried the directions on norton.com if I suspect a virus, but as soon as I deleted it…it came right back when I started it up.

If there is any other solution, it would be greatly appreciated to know.

Thanks in advance

Norton is cleary detecting some incoming network traffic from a port that is probably being firewalled.

If its malware causing this it should be detected in system scan.

If its not you will have to isolate the problem, look for a program attempting to update its self.

Oh and Uninstall nortan and install Avast :P JOKING!
