How do I get rid of W32/Gaobot.worm.gen.u - Win32/RBot.3eu!Worm.I ran McAfee virus scan but it wasn’t detected?

I ran it on normal mode & safe mode but it didn't detect the worm/virus. When I'm using my computer, it sometimes says b.exe has stopped working and microsoft tells me i have a worm. Sounds of ads keep playing even when i don't have anything open and sometimes internet explorer opens up and displays an ad. Can someone please tell me how to remove this virus/worm.
