How do I import a video from my Samsung SCL 906 to Windows Vista Movie Maker?

I have a Video tape on my Samsung SCL 906 and I need to get it onto my windows movie maker to edit it. I have the S Video cable and when I go to File>Import from Digital Video Camera, it says "Import video cannot find a compatible digital video device". I read something online about you needed to be in VCR playback mode but I do not know what that is. Please help!

Sorry, SCL 906 is an analog hi-8 vcam and a pc doesn't accept analog files/ vid streams.
Convert the vid stream first from analog to digital.
