You have to go to your add & remove. The problem you are going to find is that 1) The software may not remove at all. 2), only portions of the software will remove. 3) Even if you go to Nortons webpage and use their uninstaller tool, you still are going to have over 375 fragments glued to your registry, files, folders and sub system. And this is going to cause you serious conflict when you try to install a better antivirus.
1) Download this software and see if durng the evaluation period you will be able to delete Nortons. I use this software but don´t remember if during the evaluation period I was able to delete files. This software will remove the file, and then scans your registry, files, folders and sub system for any files that are left behind and you can delete them.
2) If you are able to remove via add/remove, then you must go to your tray and open start, search and type in Norton, and let your PC search for all related files, delete them from the bottom up. If any say write protected or being used by another file, then reboot and go back and try again. Usually will delete this time. You must also type in the name Symantac, (not sure of the spelling), but parent company of Nortons. They are also embedded in your system.
Now you must go to start run, type in: c://program files, double click on browse, open program files and look for both names, and delete. If they don´t delete reboot and try again.
If all else fails ctc. me and I will direct you to free software that will delete any write protected file or file that says being used by another software.
