My PC - a Compaq Presario s3100nx - is about 7 years old. Would like to buy a new LCD monitor. Most on the market are widescreen.
How do I know if my older PC will support a widescreen LCD?

What you need to do is look at the system and hardware requirements for the product in question.
For example, a 22″ Dell Flatscreen has specific minimum requirements.

Then you would have to compare those requirements against your computer to determine compatibility and functionality.
