How do I know if removing a dll file that my free AVG has captured is safe and will not crash the system?

March 28th, 2009 · 4 Comments

AVG caught more than thousand infected files in my computer. The Virus vault is full and is no longer taking other affected files. So I need to delete them but I fear that it might crash my system. Since I don't have a bootable disk, XP installer, drivers, I don't want to crash the system in any case. Please help.

If AVG has already moved the files to your virus vault then your system wont be using them as part of the core system anyway, so you can clear them out.

Just empty the virus vault because those files are quarantined any way and are not in use anymore, and then you can quarantine other infected files. When the virus vault is full just empty it and all is ok.
