how do i make a DLL file?

hey im trying to make a Visual Novel with some friends and im trying to figure out how to make .dll files and how to make them usable in Nscrpiter.

anyone who can help please do so, i have Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and im like brand new and i needa get this done. anyone who can help please do so :)
