My computer had to be reformatted because my hard drive was corrupted, according to my resident techie. He's not avalible to help me with my latest problem, though.
When he formatted it, he brought back all of the files and programs it initially came with, which included a 30-day subscription to Norton Internet Security. I have had this computer for about a year and a half (a Dell Inspiron 1501) and have purchased the virus upgrades for the past two years.
I currently have my product key and serial number from my latest purchase (April 16, 2008). I've tried using the subscription option to install the upgrade by putting in the product key, but that won't work because it comes up with an Error message saying that my product key is invalid.
I remember having to uninstall the existing version of antivirus to install the update.
What do I do to reinstall my Norton 2008 Upgrade on my recently wiped computer?

Contact Symantec Customer Service and explain your problem. But I must warn you that they only have 1 year support with the license policy. I don't know what you had setup. Also you can download better software for free to protect your system with free-updates http://www.pctools.com Note this site does offer paid software also as free versions also. This what I do.
